What to plant in a fall garden?

Bettye Arre: Start early. Your best bet is to use cold season crops such as lettuces, spinach, Kale, carrots, winter squash, and beets. Do a google search for cool season vegetables and that will help you with your selection. You could also do a search on row covers. This can give you some extra heat in the colder temperatures.
