Gerardo Greist: It depends on the company. Many companies have contracts with reputable body shops who agree to make repairs at the company's estimate, but won't pay more than that if you want to take the car elsewhere at a higher cost; ask the adjuster about his/her company's policy. They'll probaly say no.
Lita Thammorongsa: depends on the adjuster. they will usually prefer aftermarket parts to lower the cost of the repair as much as possible. this is legal. so they may not care where you take it, but they may not honor a higher estimate either
