Hobert Dula: do you have phone jacks? (the plugs in the wall your land line phone would connect to if you had one) AT&T offers DSL by itself without having a phone line. Depending on your situation, it may be a better option over cable internet (cable sometimes degrades the more people that are using it in a small area such as an apartment building)

Margart Stimpert: I jus! t enrolled with att today for a high speed line with out a telephone. we have two cell phones and have no use for a land line. we will be paying $39.00 a month. It sounds like it will work great for us but not sure of the service yet. I did speak to a high level tech and he recommends it highly. I hope that this has helped a lot. oh yes, it is there ultra high speed also. have a great day .
