Arden Strachn: Software.
Providencia Jalbert: Hardware-drive, Software-driver
Kandi Lough: Andy M: I own an HP laptop computer. Yesterday I did a health check of my computer using the HP Support Assistant and an update was given for the "Intel Turbo Boost drive" which I never had before. It installed fine, however, in the Device Manager it's showing a yellow triangle next to the Turbo Boost and it says...This Device Cannot Work..Code 10. I tried to update it. I did a roll back of the drive. I uninstalled it the reinstalled it. But it doesn't work.
Raleigh Lufkin: If you downloaded then its a "Driver" in which case it would be a piece of software. A driver is the software that enables the computer to talk to any hardware device IE Printer, Hard Drive, Optical Drive, Mouse, Keyboard, etc...
Mercedez Trabue: Hardware. A piece of equipment build into the PC. And as far as I know they can't download hardware,* thus it must be software you are ! having a problem with. Go back to HP.Peace* Receiving furniture by downloading??? Must be virtual furniture.
Corrina Faro: A computer DRIVER is software. It is the interface software between the physical piece of kit (the hardware) and the operating system. Arguably, firmware sort of straddles the fence between hardware and software, but that's another song and dance.
Iris Shawcroft: It depends. From what it sounds like, if it is something you downloaded, it is software. If it is a piece of hardware in which you installed it physically into your computer, then it is hardware.I need more information before I can offer further assistance.Sounds like you may be having a "driver" issue which can range from just having the wrong software for a piece of hardware, OR one that just isn't compatible with your computer.Good luck!...Show more
Hilde Heskett: Ok, if it was downloaded from HP to your computer it is software. From what you've described it's probably a! driver program for a particular piece of hardware. A driver ! is just a piece of software that tells your operating system how to use a piece of hardware. For instance, your graphics driver tells your operating system how to use the features of your graphics card.
