how can we design an engine of brake power 30 kw? we hav single parameter i.e bp , how can we find othrs?

Percy Seiger: 30 kilowatts is roughly 40 horsepower ( = 50 kw/746 watts per horsepower). You need to know the RPM that the engine will develop 40 horsepower. The engine's torque (measured in pound feet) is related to horsepower by torque = (Horsepower)(5,252)/RPM. Maximum torque occurs at a lower RPM than maximum horsepower.

Delmer Pectol: Some minor points.Brake power or brake horsepower are measure numbers using a dynamometer. What you are asking about is design power or design horsepower. Design power may or may not match the brake horsepower of an engine made from the design. To accurately design an engine of a given horsepower one needs to use emperical data of the type engine manufacturers have....Show more
