Adults playing video games?

Violette Vanek: well i am 49 years old and have been playing video games for 35 years. i think a good percentage of gamers are adults because of the cost of every thing.i own an xbox,xbox 360,ps2,ps3 and a pc plus over 300 different games,if i was a 10-16 year old kid i don't think my parents would be running out and buying all this stuff for me unless they were rich.in the last 6 years i have probably spent $15,000.00 on games and gaming equipment,systems,books,controllers driving wheels,etc.no child's parents are going to spend that kind of money on this stuff for them.hope this helps.have fun gaming....Show more

Alvaro Oare: I'm 31 (ugh, getting old), and I've been playing video games since literally before I can remember clearly, first on an inherited Atari 2600 and then my own Sega Master System when that died. Like you, I don't g! ive much of a care if others think it's childish or not, I really see no difference between them and other forms of escapism entertainment (TV/Movies, Books, etc). I enjoy them still, and I have fun with them. I enjoy the challenge, the interactivity (I can only watch so much non-interactive TV before I get bored and zone out), and the stories. I'll probably keep playing until either the industry or I die. Whichever comes first, lol. As for what systems I own, name one. I probably have it. I stopped being a brandname fanboy a long time ago, and now I'm of the belief that "once a system has enough cool games to justify buying it, I'll buy it"....Show more

Anibal Katayama: i would say about 80% kids and teens and 20-30% adults. im not sure. adults do play video games though so dont doubt it.

My daughter has her own toon on WOW. I have friends in real life who are all in their 20s and 30s and play WOW too. In our guild, we have a few guildees who are over 40 and play.
